At Avis we ensure that all of our rental cars meet the highest safety standards, always in accordance with the various manufacturer guidelines, to give our customers the most comfortable and safest experience possible. However, if you would like further coverage for your own peace of mind, we also offer a variety of different types to find the one best suited for you.
Drive your hire car or van with confidence with our two protective cover options that span excess reduction (there’d be nothing to pay towards the repair or replacement of the vehicle if it’s damaged) and Roadside Assistance Plus (free support for breakdown assistance or common mishaps like flat batteries and locked-in keys).
Plus, at the rental counter, you can choose Personal Accident Insurance or Super Personal Accident Insurance so you know that regardless of what happens, we will be there to assist you and make sure you get the best service possible.
Simply add Vehicle Cover or Vehicle Cover Plus when you make your reservation online, or speak to us when you pick up your car to add Personal Accident Insurance.

Windscreen Cover
While we aim to cover almost everything in our insurance options, Windscreen Cover is not included in any cover package for bookings in the UK.
Windscreen Cover is included in all cover packages for bookings into Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland, though an excess will apply.
For bookings in the UK and elsewhere, Windscreen Cover can be arranged when you collect your vehicle.
Personal Accident Insurance
With Avis we aim to provide the best hire car and coverage, but accidents can still happen. That is why we’ve partnered up with AIG to offer you first-class protection for personal injury and emergency medical support and transport.
Make sure you check if you’re already covered with your own travel insurance, but if not you can get a host of insurance benefits with this additional cover including consequences after an accident, emergency medical care transportation as well as things like lost luggage and coverage on unexpected costs.
